Mommy／マミーを観てー子どもの泣き声に苦情を言われた自分への処方薬－

先日子どもの泣き声に近所から苦情を言われてかなり精神的に落ち込んだので、病院（映画館）に行ってきました。精神的に落ち込んだ時の薬は私にとって映画か本です。

私が自分自身に処方した薬はカンヌ国際映画祭2014審査員特別賞を受賞したグザヴィエ・ドラン監督『Mommy』です。

発達障害を抱える息子をシングルマザーとして育てる母親の話なのですが、現実社会の厳しさと、そこで子どもを守ろうとする母の愛と、それに気付いて支援しようとする人の関わり方がリアルに描かれていました。

観ていて面白かったりおかしかったりする映画ではないのだれど、「こういうことをわかって、この映画を作ってくれた人がいる。そして、この映画がきちんと評価されているんだ」と思えたことが私に薬としての効果を発揮しました。母親ダイアンに共感する一方で、隣人カイラの関わり方もまた社会福祉士を目指すうえで、おおいに考えさせられました。

監督のグザヴィエ・ドランは、1989年生まれの25歳です。母親の息子ではあっても母親ではない彼がこんなにも母親のことを表現できるということに驚愕もしました。母親であっても母親のことをわからない人はいるけど、母親じゃなくても母親というものはわかる人にはわかるものなんだ、と感動しながら家に帰りました。

映画が終わってからも頭の中に流れ続けたのは、エンディングテーマLana Del Reyの『Born To Die』です。この曲も決して明るい曲ではなくて死をも想起させる曲なのですが、勇気をもらいました。歌詞を引用しておくので、英語の得意な方は訳してみてください。（苦手な方は検索してみてください）ミュージックビデオは刺激が強かったので、Liveバージョンを掲載します。
